For next week's issue, we're keeping last week's topic going as it has       inspired many responses:              Tell us about a time when you stumbled upon something (valuable, or just       interesting) in an unusual place. Were you doing work on a house and did you       open a wall up to find something? Were you cleaning out a closet, or did you       open up a box or reach into a pocket of an old jacket, and find something       tucked away?              Send an email with your response to Phil@BigNews.biz Your feedback helps us       to keep the newsletter interesting :) And thanks to those of you who have been       responding! We really enjoy, and appreciate, the feedback!       ---------              In response to last week's question which asked about a time when you stumbled       upon something (valuable, or just interesting) in an unusual place, we       received the following responses:              "Hi Phil. My surprise was that when my husband brought home one of those old       big black heavy office desks of the past this is what he found stuck in the       draws back seam: a souvenir elongated penny from the 1893 Colombian Exposition       World's Fair in Chicago! Such a neat find which we still keep in the desk for       good luck. Randee"              "Hi Phil, here is my "find" in an unusual place for the next letter. Years       ago my husband and I stopped at a yard sale at a very old and rather rundown       house. The people had been working several year to refurbish the house but       were out of money to continue. They were willing to sell about anything. The       upstairs had not been redone but they told us we could go up there and look as       their was some old chairs, light fixtures, etc. There was some really cool       built-in cupboards that were original to the house and we asked how much they       would be if we came back and removed them. They told us we could have them if       we removed them. We came back the next day to take the cupboards out. There       was a large pile of trash on the floor of the room we were working in and I       noticed a small shiny metal handle sticking up out of the trash pile. Out of       curiosity I pulled it out to see what it was. I was so surprised to see an       old vintage chainmail pot scrubber. It was in excellent shape. Since I       collect vintage kitchen items, I was thrilled as it was something I had not       actually seen in my years of collecting. I asked the homeowners if I could       buy it and they just looked at me with a blank expression and said "what is       it?" I explained what it was and they told me I could have it. That was a fun       find! It was a simple item but a great addition to my kitchen collectibles.        Shanna D."              "Dear Phil, When we moved into our home outside of North Bend, WA, the former       owners had left their rosewood piano and requested we keep it until they could       find someone to move it. Since my husband had to return to Phoenix to take our       piano out of storage we agreed. The movers were over a few days before my       husband returned. Upon moving the piano, I discovered a Drewerys Ale Beer       advertisement. A RC Mountie and another man are in a canoe with a crate of       Drewerys Ale in the canoe. The swift-moving river is in the mountains with       pine trees. This was done at Coshocton, Ohio by American Art Works, Inc. The       original painting was done by Hy Hintermeister. I know the trays are worth       about $75.00, but I have never found the worth of this painting on tin. They       were done to hang in taverns or where ale was sold.
