Email       recipes@tias.com if you would like to submit a recipe.              Here's a recipe from Doris P:              Oatsies              2 cups oats       1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)       1/2 cup butter melted       1/4 cup dark corn syrup       1/2 teaspoon salt       1 teaspoon vanilla       1 pkg (6 oz) semi-sweet choc. chips melted 1/4 cup chopped nuts              Heat over to 400 degrees. Greas baking pan 9x9x2. In medium bowl, mix oats and       brown sugar. Stir together butter, syrup, salt and vanilla, mis thoroughly       into oat mixture. Press dough evenly in bottom of pan. Bake 8-10 minutes or       until top bubbles. Cool, then spread chocolate on top. Sprinkle nuts onto       chocolate and chill one hour. Send us your       favorite holiday cookie recipe and we'll feature it here!              Here's one submitted by Deb J:              Candy Cane Cookies              Mix: 1/2 cup shortening, 1/2 cup butter, 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 egg, 1 1/2       tspn almond extract and 1 tspn vanilla              Sift: 2 1/2 cups flour and 1/2 tspn salt; stir into butter mixture. Divide       dough in two, add 1/2 tspn red food coloring to 1/2 of mixture.              Shape into 4 inch thin logs, then twist a red and a white together, shaping       into a cane shape. Bake 9 minutes at 375 on an ungreased pan.              As with collectibles, people also have very strong feelings about foods from       their past. Sometimes these special recipes get lost.
