Last week an avid cookbook collector sent in a recipe from "Heinz Book of
Salads" for Baked Bean Sandwich. We received this response from Sandi C:

"I was so tickled to see the "recipe" for a Baked Bean Sandwich in this
newsletter! It was a favorite of my mom and also mine. I especially like
"scraping the little browned edges" of the pan for my sandwich. And, of
course a little bacon, ham, molasses cooked with the beans (even cheaper can
of 'pork and beans works fine) makes it just SUPER! Thanks for the memory -
   maybe I'll fix one tonight."
