The larger one is an 18-inch circle, plus fringes. It       has beautiful gold Art Nouveau golden flowers, green leaves and scalloped       edges. The other one has a similar design with red flowers, about 8 inches       across. The pieces were in beautiful shape, and I wanted to preserve them for       future generations. I found a museum-qualified fabric preservationist who       cleaned and pressed them and mounted them on acid-free backings, covered them       with UV-resistant glass and framed them elegantly. The larger one, at my       request, has a substantial round frame that fits exactly on top of a round       table of my grandmother's. The expense was considerable. A few years later I       mentioned to my mother that I had had my great-grandmother's work framed.        "You know," she said, "I am not actually sure she did those." "Well, she did       now!" I said. "       --       -----------------------------------------------------------------              --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-2        * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38)    |
