   >From Carol H (and congrats on the anniversary, Carol!):
I received this recipe from a college friend's mother in 1970 when I was a
student at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She called it Quick Lunchbox
Cake. In 1970, I graduated from college and married the man I will celebrate
45 yrs. of marriage with on July 2. We live in Lakeland, Florida--Carol H

   Quick Lunchbox Cake
   2 1/4 C. flour
   2 tsp. soda
   1 tsp. salt
1 C firmly packed brown sugar
   2 eggs
   1/4 C. soft butter
1 pound can fruit cocktail, undrained 1/2 C. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
   1/2 C. chopped nuts

Grease and flour (today we would use Pam) bottom of 13 x 9 inch pan. Combine
all ingredients except fruit cocktail, chocolate pieces and nuts in a large
mixer bowl. Blend well at lowest speed; beat 2 min. at medium speed. Stir
in fruitcocktail. Pour batter into pan. Sprinkle with chocolate pieces and
   nuts.

Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.
