      >From Carol H (and congrats on the anniversary, Carol!):       I received this recipe from a college friend's mother in 1970 when I was a       student at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She called it Quick Lunchbox       Cake. In 1970, I graduated from college and married the man I will celebrate       45 yrs. of marriage with on July 2. We live in Lakeland, Florida--Carol H              Quick Lunchbox Cake       2 1/4 C. flour       2 tsp. soda       1 tsp. salt       1 C firmly packed brown sugar       2 eggs       1/4 C. soft butter       1 pound can fruit cocktail, undrained 1/2 C. semi-sweet chocolate pieces       1/2 C. chopped nuts              Grease and flour (today we would use Pam) bottom of 13 x 9 inch pan. Combine       all ingredients except fruit cocktail, chocolate pieces and nuts in a large       mixer bowl. Blend well at lowest speed; beat 2 min. at medium speed. Stir       in fruitcocktail. Pour batter into pan. Sprinkle with chocolate pieces and       nuts.              Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.        --------------              9. As with collectibles, people also have very strong feelings about foods       from their past. Sometimes these special recipes get lost. This section is       to help people who are looking for lost recipes from their past. If you       submit a request, please include the geographical region where you tasted the       recipe. If you have a vintage recipe request send it to recipes@tias.com and       we might just publish it here.              TIAS.com merchants have well over 4,000 cookbooks for sale!
