A Vintage Recipe              Be sure to check out our vintage recipe archive online at: http:       /www.tias.com/newsletter/topics/A%20Vintage%20Recipe.html Over 1200 wonderful       vintage recipes are listed.              *Note - the recipes are submitted by fellow Collectors Newsletter       readers and are not checked for accuracy or tested by the TIAS staff. Keep in       mind that many of these recipes were created at a time when there were no       worries about such things as raw eggs, for example - so modern kitchen safety       should prevail.                     8. As with collectibles, people also have very strong feelings about foods       from their past. Sometimes these special recipes get lost. This section is to       help people who are looking for lost recipes from their past. If you submit a       request, please include the geographical region where you tasted the recipe.              Jim H sent in this request:       "Many years ago the Sunset Magazine had a very good recipe for a Hot Fudge       Topping. Unfortunately I have lost that one. I remember that you would take       1 cup of whipping cream and cook it in the Microwave till it had reduced to       1/2 cup. add semi-sweet chocolate chips and I think it was vanilla and       Amaretto. I have tried to make it but just can't seem to get the proportions       right. I have checked the internet but havenCÇÖt found one that came close to       this one. Hope someone out there still has this in their files. Thanks              Jim H.              PS - Love your newsletter. One of the few emails I really look forward to!!!"              Hopefully someone can help Jim. Thanks for your comments about the Collector's       Newsletter!!       --              If you have a vintage recipe request send it to recipes@tias.com and we might       just publish it here.              TIAS.com merchants have well over 4,000 cookbooks for sale! You can       see them here: http://www.tias.com/books/cooking/              Be sure to check out our vintage kitchen collectibles section online at:       http://www.tias.com/showcase/1/Kitchen_Collectibles/1.html              9. Cute and Funny Stories!              "Hi, I am not sure this is special enough to publish.              Years ago, I enjoyed an outing with my three year old niece. Ice cream was a       special treat then. When I asked her what kind she wanted, she replied, I       would like plain 'banilla' without nothin' in it. Rosemary"       Awww - cute enough for us!              --------------------------              --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-1        * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38)    |
