Here's one       from Carol T. Thank you, Carol!              Potato Salad              2 lbs. potatoes (5 to 6 medium), peeled and cut into 3/4-inch chunks 1/2 cup       Real Mayonnaise       1 Tbsp. vinegar       1 tsp. salt       1/2 tsp. sugar       1/4tsp. ground black pepper       1/2 cup thinly sliced celery       1/2 cup chopped onion       1 Tbsp. dill relish       2 hard-cooked eggs, chopped              Cover potatoes with water in 4-quart saucepot; bring to a boil over       medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer until potatoes are tender,       about 10-15 minutes. Drain and cool slightly. Combine Mayonnaise, vinegar,       salt, sugar and pepper in large bowl. Add potatoes, celery, relish, onion and       eggs and toss gently. Serve chilled or at room temperature.              Carol T---Cullman, Ala              --       Marilin G. sent in an old recipe she found:              "Good evening. Keep in       mind that many of these recipes were created at a time when there were no       worries about such things as raw eggs, for example - so modern kitchen safety       should prevail.       --       8. As with collectibles, people also have very strong feelings about foods       from their past. Sometimes these special recipes get lost. This section is to       help people who are looking for lost recipes from their past. If you submit a       request, please include the geographical region where you tasted the recipe.              We didn't receive any requests for vintage recipes this week. Care to share       your mom's best potato salad or deviled eggs recipes, or maybe Baked Beans       that don't come out of a can? Seems fitting for this time of year!              If you have a vintage recipe request send it to recipes@tias.com and we might       just publish it here.              TIAS.com merchants have well over 4,000 cookbooks for sale! You can       see them here: http://www.tias.com/books/cooking/              Be sure to check out our vintage kitchen collectibles section online at:       http://www.tias.com/showcase/1/Kitchen_Collectibles/1.html       --------------------------              --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-1        * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38)    |
