A Vintage Recipe              Be sure to check out our vintage recipe archive online at: http:       /www.tias.com/newsletter/topics/A%20Vintage%20Recipe.html Over 1200 wonderful       vintage recipes are listed.              Here's an easy cake recipe, perfect for a summer dessert. We've published this       before, but it's worth repeating. It's even easier if you purchase a       ready-made angel food cake!              Ingredients:       -One angle food cake, cooled (or ready-made)       -One small package of instant vanilla pudding mix and one small       package of instant chocolate pudding mix, prepared following "pie"       instructions (using less milk) and chilled.       -One container of Cool Whip, thawed              With a sharp, serrated knife, slice the cake into three layers. Spread the       chocolate pudding on the bottom slice, place the middle section of cake on top       of the chocolate frosted layer, and then spread the vanilla pudding on the       middle layer, then replace the top section. "Frost" the entire thing with the       cool whip, as you would regular frosting, and keep refrigerated until served.        Slice gently, using a sawing motion, with a serrated knife, or a vintage cake       "breaker" (like those found here:       http://www.tias.com/simple_search/cake%20breaker/)              You can use any flavor of pudding combinations, and Cool Whip also comes in a       chocolate flavor!                     *Note - the recipes are submitted by fellow Collectors Newsletter       readers and are not checked for accuracy or tested by the TIAS staff. Keep in       mind that many of these recipes were created at a time when there were no       worries about such things as raw eggs, for example - so modern kitchen safety       should prevail.       --------------------------              --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-1        * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38)    |
