Noella T. responded to the story about the persistent haggler at a fundraiser       garage sale:              "The $1,000-1,500 chandelier - Maybe the commotion could have been avoided if       he had explained to her that if the higher-end items didn't sell for asking       price, they were placed in an antique shop (that didn't take a percentage)       until they did sell. Although the woman in question may still not have liked       it. It was very appropriate that she was escorted from the premises."       --              Patrice J of Richmond, VA shares her collecting story:              "Hello. This story is for Myrna or anyone who would be interested. I have a       passion too. Even though I really enjoy platters and dishes that is not my       passion. I have a cookbook fetish. I have lots of cookbooks but I am really       into old cookbooks. I think my oldest is from 1912 the year the Titanic went       down. My most expensive was around $100.00 and was from the 1920's I       believe. I just bought a rare one from 1938 for just $5.00 at an antique       mall. Truth be told I have no more room for them but I cannot help myself. I       enjoy cooking and enjoy seeing what people cooked many years ago. I use       almost every excuse in the book to keep buying them when I can. I tell myself       that I will pass a few to my kids when they grow up that I will make a million       dollar receipe out of one or that moving to a bigger house will help my       "problem".              I admire the way Myrna is making money from her passion but I have no idea how       to make money from something I do not want to give up. Maybe I can write a       book about my vintage collection or something. Who knows but like Myrna I need       to go to a Shrink too or some type of cookbook therapy. But in the meantime I       will just keep collecting."              For anyone else interested in collecting cookbooks, TIAS sellers have over       4,000 listed!
