Vicki, one of our readers, sent in images of a pin her grandmother owned.
She'd like help identifying it and finding out the value. "It is about 1 1/2 "
square all around. This was my grandmothers probably from the 40' s, 50's,
60's or maybe earlier .. she was born in the 1900's."

Here's a follow up story from one of our sellers, Myrna.

"I wrote my story on Tias about a month ago and decided to add more to the
original story. Maybe it will inspire someone out there in Tiasland to do
something similar? When we are small business operators we need to help and
encourage each other to work hard and make a "go" of what our passion is. My
passion turned out to be dinnerware, dishes of ALL kinds, doesn't matter what
   - sets, singles, glasses, new and used. China, stoneware, or anything else
that goes in the kitchen or dining room. (along with other things too of
   course.)

The attached photos are truly only part of my inventory. I have my garage and
2 guest rooms full of shelves in addition to the many you will see in the
pictures from my larger storage area which consists of 2 rooms. At last count
there was well over 50,000 items. I even have dishes in my side yard, all on
shelves and sheds. I know, time to see a shrink? But who knows of a good
dish shrink? I have put my heart and soul into this business for 15 yrs. and
have made a very good living doing so. The economy hit hard as people slowed
down on buying dishes. They were having a hard time buying food to put on the
dishes! But sticking with it and pursuing what I started way back when, it is
still a thriving business. I have slowed down a little the past couple months
with both shopping and listing because of a remodel in my house and not having
time to do everything as well as before. But all that will soon be over and I
will get ready for the coming fall and winter sales. When I start ed doing
this, I knew nothing about china. I did not know brand names, patterns, etc.
Now I can go into a store and see a plate sitting far away on a shelf and I
know the maker and the pattern name. Seldom do I have to look anything up to
know what it is. As I said, passion? Obsession? Whatever it is, it is fun
and I love it. Hard work and hours of computer time but any job you work at,
you need to do it to the best of your ability to succeed and that is what I
have tried to do since day one.

I encourage each of you to find something you really like - books, car parts,
electronics, knick knacks, anything at all - and try listing a few things to
sell. If you need extra money, if you have extra time, it is a great way to
supplement your income even if you don't do it to the capacity that I have.
It is a learning process but as you do it and as you sell something, you will
catch on to the right and wrong way and the things to buy that will resell.
With our economy as it is still, people shop the internet in an amazing way.
They save gas and time even if they pay shipping costs, they will still buy
and come back again for reorders.

Have fun with whatever you do in life and take a minute to check out my store
   on Tias. www.dinnerwarereplacements.net

   Thanks for reading. --- Myrna"
