"My mother-in-law, Mercedes "Cede" Nichols made them every year for Christmas       she learned how to make them from her Mother who came to the U.S. from "Old       Country" as they referred to it. They were always delicious, especially when       hot out of the oven.              The spelling is different but I am sure it is the same thing. She updated her       recipe to using Hot Roll Mix once it came out but originally she just used       flour, sugar, salt and milk for the dough. If I find her original recipe I       will send that one along.              Love the newsletter but especially love the recipe section, keep up the great       work.              Kindest Regards, Jan N.              CedeCÇÖs KoloskiCÇÖs       Apricot, Prune or any other kind of fruit desired Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees              3 boxes of Hot Roll Mix. Mix up according to directions but add 3 T sugar per       box. Let rise. Roll out a chunk of dough very thin, 1/8 inch. Brush with       butter using the feather brush. Cut into 3 inch squares, add 1 large tsp.        filling of your choice to the center. Bring all 4 corners up to the center and       pinch then place on a buttered cookie sheet, let rise a little. They will       fall back down making a nice square. Bake 14 minutes or until light golden       brown. Rotate cookie sheet half way through cooking time from the bottom of       our oven to the top to insure browning on the top as well as the bottom.        Drizzle with butter.       Prune Koloski       1 box prunes       1/2 cup sugar       Cook until CÇ£smoochyCÇØ, drain if there is any juice left. Apricots Koloski:       Same as prune version above. You can buy the Solo Apricot Paste in cans if       desired.       ---------------       --------------------------              --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-1        * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38)    |
