Over 1200 wonderful vintage recipes are listed.

Last week, Bev in Cottonwood, AZ requested a recipe for carrots made in a slow
cooker, in a sweetened sauce. We had two responses. We hope one of these
   recipes is what you need!

This recipe is from Jill H. from Tuscon, AZ: Crock Pot Carrots
I don't really have a recipe, but here's what I do. I peel and cut about 2 lbs
of carrots into big chunks and put them in a bowl. I mix them with about 1/8
cup or so of light brown sugar, 2 Tbls melted butter, 2 Tbls honey and about
1/4 cup water (or sometimes I use apple juice or orange juice), and a little
sprinkle of salt and pepper. Mix it all, put it in a crockpot on low for 3-4
hours, maybe longer if they are really large chunks. They keep on the "warm"
setting for quite a while without getting mushy. Hope this is what Bev is
   looking for!

   This is from Debbie S:
   Copper Carrots:
2 # carrots, sliced or baby carrots 1 can tomato soup, undiluted
   1/4 cup sugar
   1 medium onion, chopped
   1 green pepper, chopped
3/4 cup cider or red wine vinegar
   1/2 cup vegetable oil
   1 tsp. Worchestershire sauce
   1 tsp. salt
   1 tsp. pepper
   1 tsp. Dijon mustard

Place carrots in a saucepan, cover with water and bring to a boil. Cover and
simmer for 7 minutes or until tender. Drain. In a bowl, combine remaining
ingredients. Mix well. Stir in carrots. Cover and refrigerate 12 hours.

   10. A vintage recipe request from a reader:

We don't have any requests this week - isn't anybody out there craving
   something from their childhood?!?

As with collectibles, people also have very strong feelings about foods from
their past. Sometimes these special recipes get lost. This section is to help
people who are looking for lost recipes from their past. If you submit a
request, please include the geographical region where you tasted the recipe.

If you have a vintage recipe request send it to recipes@tias.com and we might
   just publish it here.
