For next week's issue: This is the same topic as last week's topic, but with       an example of how one person felt about "getting a deal." (We ran this many       years ago). What do you think about it?              A popular hunting magazine ran an article written by a gun collector. He was       so proud of himself for buying a shotgun from a elderly man who was closing       out his home and having an estate sale. While asking $100.00 on a particular       shotgun the buyer talked the elderly man down to $50.00. The buyer proudly       stated how the gun was later sold for $150,000.00 and he was not in the least       bit concerned with "taking" the elderly man for all it was worth. If the       buyer had offered the elderly man $1000.00, 10 times the amount he was asking,       do you think that would have been fair? Is it the buyer's responsibility to       "come clean" or is it the seller's responsibility to do the proper research       before selling an item?              Send your story to: Phil@bignews.biz If you have an opinion in reference to       the above topic, we'd love to hear from you! Please send it to:       Phil@BigNews.biz and maybe we will run your opinion in an upcoming newsletter.       ----              (Editor's note: We are rerunning the next two requests for identification due       to an error in last week's newsletter)              A request for identification:              "This childCÇÖs coat was my great auntCÇÖs from the very early 1900CÇÖs. The       material is like that of an old teddy bear and the buttons have bears on       them. Was this a style from back then or something my great great grandmother       came up with on her own? Does it have value (other than sentimental)?        Thanks, Ginny" You can see Ginny's coat on our facebook page if you copy and       paste this link into your browser: http://on.fb.me/112tLUX       -----              Next request for identification help:              "I came across this in a box of things that was packed away by my mother       decades ago. I haven't any idea what it is or what it might be worth. I've       tried researching the company, but all I have been enable to find is       information on knives. Could you please tell me what this is and what it's       worth might be. Steve M." You can see photos of Steve's item on our facebook       page. Send them to       me at phil@Bignews.biz       -----              We have even more interesting items that need to be identified. They will be       posted in our next newsletter and on facebook within the upcoming weeks.       ---------------------       --------------------------              --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-1        * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38)    |
