Here's the       link: https://www.facebook.com/TIASAntiques If you have photos of items you       would like to share you can post them there as well.       --------------              Last week we asked: Grossly Under Priced: You see someone selling their things       because they need the money. You spot several items that are way under       priced. What is your obligation as a buyer, to a novice seller who is selling       an item way below market value? What do you do? We received this response       from Maya in NJ:              "In reference to seeing a person selling things for a lot less than their       value- My neighbor was having a garage sale. I stopped by and noticed that       she was selling, what I thought to be, an unmarked RS Prussia bowl. This was       about 10 years ago when Prussia was really going for good money. She had the       piece marked as $2.50. I thought, if it was RS Prussia, it was worth at least       $250.00 (if not more) and I told her. She seemed kind of shocked that it       might be worth that much. Before she had the chance to change the price, a       gentleman walked up and picked up the vase. He looked at the price and said       "I'll take this". My friend looked at me and without batting an eye she said       "I'm sorry, the tag was written incorrectly. It is supposed to say $250.00       and not $2.50" The man didn't question her, he took out his wallet and paid       her $250 in cash. We have no idea what the bowl was actually worth, and we       suspected it might have been worth even more since he didn't try and haggle       with her, but she got       $247.50 more than she would have and that was good enough for her.       Maya G."              If you have a story to share with our readers, please email it to       phil@Bignews.biz and we will include it in an upcoming issue.              --------------------------              --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-1        * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38)    |
