   7. Funny stories

   "I live in the northeast where we have had a very cold and snowy winter.  Last   
   week we had a 45 degree sunny day so I took my class of 4 year olds outside so   
   we could look for some signs of spring. We found crocuses that were about to   
   bloom, some buds on trees and even heard a cardinal that was chirping away.    
   As we were walking back toward the door of the school, we saw a little sparrow   
   sitting on the roof, right above a birdhouse that was hung outside the door.    
   As I gathered my students at the doorway the sparrow began to chirp loudly and   
   constantly, as though he was yelling at us, so I told my class that we had   
   better get inside because the sparrow was telling us that it wanted to go back   
   into its birdhouse.  With that, one of the little boys in my class looked up   
   at me and quizzically asked....."You talk bird?" Sheila from the Northeast US
