      3. This Week's Stories              Every week we post stories and comments from our readers. Send your story to       phil@Bignews.biz and I'll publish it in an upcoming newsletter. Did you know       that you don't have to have a facebook account to use the links to see the       various photos that we mention below? Just copy and paste the link into your       browser. However, if you do have a facebook account please "Like" us!              Also, remember that you can check out our facebook page for some interesting       updates. Here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/TIASAntiques If you have       photos of items you would like to share you can post them there as well.              For next week's issue: Here's the topic: During the Holidays, every       household seems to have different vintage items that come out of storage.        This might be a Turkey platter, Silverware, Tree ornaments, etc. Tell us       about your favorite. Where did it come from and why is it so special? Let's       keep the newsletter interesting and thought provoking. Send your story to       Phil@Bignews.biz                     "Whenever my husband and I travel, we stop at antique shops and always come       home with lots of goodies. Generally, I do not ask for a lower price unless       it is a big ticket item or I know the price is unreasonable. I collect sewing       related items and vintage sewing machines, treadles, hand cranks and electric.       Many vendors and antique dealers put way too high a price on them. So I just       walk away. That is unfortunate, as I want to support the industry. As a       result, most of my machines come from other sources. I am not one to expect       to pay $25 for a treadle. I have paid $65 CÇô $500.              As an vintage enthusiast, sometimes I try to educate them. Normally, there is       no interest, which is sad. Maria -Smoky Mountains of Tennessee"                     WE NEED YOUR STORY ABOUT COLLECTING. DO YOU HAVE AN INTERESTING STORY TO       TELL? SEND IT TO PHIL@BIGNEWS.BIZ              If you do, tell us about it and if you have any photos, we'd love to see       them! Send us an email to Phil@BigNews.biz so we can share your story with       the rest of our readers.              Thanks to those of you who have been responding! We really enjoy, and       appreciate, the feedback!              Here are two requests to identify some items, can you help them out?              Item #1: I am hoping you can assist in identifying the goblet below as I am       looking to purchase more. The crystal goblet was purchased in Canada in 1964       at a store called Birks. Any assistance you can provide is greatly       appreciated. See the photo on our Facebook page here: http://on.fb.me/19KJ74C              Items #2: I'm wondering if you match patterns. My parents would like to buy       more of this pattern to replace broken pieces. The paper is standard 8.5x11       to show size. Dave S.. See the photo on our Facebook page here:       http://on.fb.me/1lJ1MOb              Do you have an item in your collection that you need help identifying or just       would like to share with our readers? Drop us an email with a photo attached,       including all dimensions of the item and any other pertinent information, and       we'll include it in our newsletter and on our Facebook page. Send them to me       at phil@Bignews.biz       -----              We have even more interesting items that need to be identified. They will be       posted in our next newsletter and on facebook within the upcoming weeks.       ---------------------       --------------------------              --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-1        * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38)    |
