As a dealer, how do you feel when someone asks for a lower price, even       on a $10.00 item? . Where do you stand? Let's keep the newsletter       interesting and thought provoking. Send your story to Phil@Bignews.biz              "Hi Phil, To add my two cents on this topic (When you are buying        something do you always ask the dealer for a better price? As a dealer,        how do you feel when someone asks for a lower price, even on a $10.00        item?), sometimes I ask, and sometimes I don't. If I feel an item has        been priced properly, or just a little high, I would not ask for a        discount -- I want the dealer to stay in business, and to appreciate me        as a customer. As a result, I've had dealers call me when they get an        item I've been looking for, or offer me discounts without my asking on        items that are more costly. In a shop I don't expect to visit again        (such as when traveling), I do pretty much the same thing, but might ask        what their discount policy is. As a result, I've gotten 20% off        everything from one dealer in a multi-dealer shop, a 5% discount for        purchases totaling at least $50, etc. But if I'm ever told no, sorry,        there are no discounts (my usual answer when people try to buy my        one-of-a-kind jew elry that's already wholesale priced), I just say        thanks, and then decide if the item is worth the price to me, or not. So        I guess I'm in the middle ground between your two other respondents on        this! Thanks for a great newsletter, Beth in Northridge       --------------------------              --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-1        * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38)    |
