      3. This Week's Stories Every week we post stories and comments from our       readers. Send your story to phil@Bignews.biz and I'll publish it in an       upcoming newsletter.              Did you know that you don't have to have a facebook account to use the links       to see the various photos that we mention below? Just copy and paste the link       into your browser. However, if you do have a facebook account please "Like"       us!        ----------------              Also, remember that you can check out our facebook page for some interesting       updates. Here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/TIASAntiques              If you have photos of items you would like to share you can post them there as       well.       --------------              For next week's issue:              We have two very different responses to a part of our last topic. (When you       are buying something do you always ask the dealer for a better price? As a       dealer, how do you feel when someone asks for a lower price, even on a $10.00       item? ) We've got a shop owner's view and then a customer's view. Where do       you stand? Let's keep the newsletter interesting and thought provoking. Send       your story to Phil@Bignews.biz              "Hi, in response to your last topic, I am a shop owner and I must admit that       it infuriates me when a customer comes in and tries to get me to go lower on a       $10.00 item. I have a small little shop that I pay rent on. I don't mark my       items up so much that they are out of line, I just want to make a small       profit. And, quite honestly, if a customer gets mad and walks out because I       won't come down from $10.00, then they aren't a customer I want anyway. Jim       M."              and the other side of the topic:              "You really hit a nerve with me when you asked if dealers get mad when a       customer asks for a lower price on a $10.00 item. In this day and age, I       would think that a dealer, or shop owner, would be happy that someone is even       willing to buy their $10.00 item, even if it is for $5.00. At least they are       getting something for it. I think that some of these shop owners are crazy to       ask the prices that they do when the economy is so bad. I will always offer a       lower price on any item because I just assume that the store owner assumes       that someone will want to bargain with them so they raise the price anyway,       knowing what they will really accept. Is that wrong? Victoria T."              WE NEED YOUR STORY ABOUT COLLECTING. DO YOU HAVE AN INTERESTING STORY TO       TELL? SEND IT TO PHIL@BIGNEWS.BIZ              If you do, tell us about it and if you have any photos, we'd love to see       them! Send us an email to Phil@BigNews.biz so we can share your story with       the rest of our readers.              Thanks to those of you who have been responding! We really enjoy, and       appreciate, the feedback!       ---------              A request for identification:              " Hi. I cannot find anything anywhere about a silver child's mug/cup I bought       recently at an estate sale. It has Uncle Wiggily characters circling it and a       line of text " . . . if the rocking horse doesn't run away with the       chocolate cake." On the bottom is stamped: Uncle Wiggily. Tudor Plate. Oneida       Community Made. The mug/cup is dented and somewhat bent out of shape. I       attached photos in the hope you can steer me in the right direction of finding       answers about its age and value. Thank you very much!       --Janet B." You can see photos of Janet's mug here:       http://on.fb.me/1anS0O4              -------       A request for help:              "Got this off an old air force barrack that only married couples lived in, it       was put on the roof when it was built in 1942,it was given to me when I redid       the roof, I stopped some one that was painting it and want to get the white       paint off so i can try to sell it,Its kind of a cheap dusty paint that is       flaking off a little. Albert" You can see Albert's cupola here:       http://on.fb.me/1anTdoC and if you have any advice for him on how he can get       the paint off, you can post it on the facebook page where you see the photo.              --------              Do you have an item in your collection that you need help identifying or just       would like to share with our readers? Drop us an email with a photo attached,       including all dimensions of the item and any other pertinent information, and       we'll include it in our newsletter and on our Facebook page. Send them to me       at phil@Bignews.biz       -----              We have even more interesting items that need to be identified.
