Just copy and paste the link       into your browser. However, if you do have a facebook account please "Like"       us!        ----------------              Also, remember that you can check out our facebook page for some interesting       updates. Here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/TIASAntiques              If you have photos of items you would like to share you can post them there as       well.       --------------              For next week's issue:              We are looking for interesting stories about collecting. When you are buying       something do you always ask the dealer for a better price? As a dealer, how do       you feel when someone asks for a lower price, even on a $10.00 item? Tell us       about your best find, unusual collection, bizarre collectible. Anything and       everything that is interesting that has to do with collecting. Let's keep the       newsletter interesting and thought provoking. Send your story to       Phil@Bignews.biz              In our last newsletter we asked: Do you dress up for Halloween? If so, do       you use vintage items to add to your costume? Here are some responses that we       received:              "Hi Phil, Last year my son wanted to dress up as "Carl" the older gentleman       from the movie "Up". I went on to TIAS and I purchased an old pair of thick       black eyeglass frames, a tweed jacket, a vintage bow tie and an old walker.        We were going to get a bunch of helium balloons and attach them to the       walker. The costume would have been great but we got hit terribly by       Super-storm Sandy and no one trick or treated, and the schools were closed for       over two weeks. This year he changed his mind and is going as something       different, but I'm holding on to the items that I bought...just in case Terry       B."              "Hi, in response to using vintage items for a costume. My husband and I (we       are in our early 30's) decided to dress up as an old man and old lady for       Halloween two years ago. I had so much fun finding vintage clothes and       accessories for our costumes. I even bought a couple of things from some of       your dealers! The only "new" things that we used were a grey wig for me and a       "bald" head for my husband. Everything else was vintage. I even used an old       cane and some vintage eyeglasses and fake pearls. No one recognized us!        Joanne N."              "A few years ago I decided to host a Halloween party. I dressed up as a       flapper and found a vintage dress that was appropriate. I bought a new       feather boa but the dress was the hit of the party. Margie L."              editor's note-we are so happy to hear that TIAS was an integral part of       creating some of these costumes.              WE NEED YOUR STORY ABOUT COLLECTING. DO YOU HAVE AN INTERESTING STORY TO       TELL? SEND IT TO PHIL@BIGNEWS.BIZ              If you do, tell us about it and if you have any photos, we'd love to see       them! Send us an email to Phil@BigNews.biz so we can share your story with       the rest of our readers.              Thanks to those of you who have been responding! We really enjoy, and       appreciate, the feedback!       ---------              --------------------------              --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-1        * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38)    |
