As with collectibles, people also have very strong feelings about foods from
their past. Sometimes these special recipes get lost. This section is to
help people who are looking for lost recipes from their past. If you submit a
request, please include the geographical region where you tasted the recipe.
If you have a vintage recipe request send it to recipes@tias.com and we might
   just publish it here.

TIAS.com merchants have thousands of cookbooks for sale!

Here's a vintage recipe from the Heinz Recipe Book, Copyright 1939. This type
of cookbook, created by a food manufacturer such as Heinz, were used as a
means to promote their products. Some of the recipes are rather strange and
makes us wonder if anyone actually tested them! Here's an example:

   Nutty Ham Sandwiches

   Combine, mixing thoroughly
   1 2 1/2 oz can deviled ham
   4 tablespoons Heinz Peanut Butter
   3 tablespoons Heinz Mayonnaise
4 teaspoons Heinz Prepared Yellow Mustard 3/4 teaspoon Heinz Worcestershire
   Sauce

Spread between slices of buttered white or rye bread. (5 sandwiches)

If anyone is brave enough to try this, can you let us know how this tasted?

Email recipes@tias.com if you have a vintage recipe you'd like to share or if
   you're looking for a recipe!
