In response to a question from a few weeks ago which asked about an item       invoking powerful memories, we received another response:              "In reading Linda M's story about the scent of lavender bringing back strong       memories of her Grandmother Moore, I have a similar story. My father was a       simple man and wasn't much on sentimental gestures. But he always, without       fail on the Saturday before Easter, would come in with a smile on his face and       present my mother with a two gardenia corsage and my sisters and me with a one       gardenia corsage to wear to church Sunday morning. I never, ever smell       gardenias without thinking fondly of my dad. Diane L."              If you have an opinion, or a story, in reference to any of the above topic, or       any of our recent topics, we'd love to hear from you! Please send it to:       Phil@BigNews.biz and maybe we will run it in an upcoming newsletter.       ----       A request for identification:       "This reel was found in rafters in 1964, I have been unable to find its age.        It is in excellent condition, and I thought it was brass as magnets do not       stick. Any info would be great. Thank you."              You can see four different photos of this fishing reel here: htt       ://on.fb.me/14Yq0z8       -------       Another request for identification: "Hi, I have an old wood chair that's been       in our family a long time - at least since the early 20th Century. I've       looked online but can't identify it. Here are some photos. I might want to       sell it but am trying to identify its style first. Thank you, Jon" You can       see six photos of Jon's chair here: http://on.fb.me/1aF0nUE       ------              "Hi Phil, Here is another radio from my collection, and VERY rare and VERY       early Zenith from 1923. This is one of the very first Zenith       radios ever made - the name Zenith being established by the Chicago Radio       Laboratory. It is also one of the earliest usages of the famous Zenith Logo.        This is (as all early radios are) a battery set requiring 3 batteries to power       the 4 vacuum tubes it used. The round screen on the front panel was a       "window" so the operator could see if the tube filaments were lighted!"              If you'd like to see a photo of this beautiful radio you can see it here:       http://on.fb.me/1bne9w4              Do you have an item in your collection that you need help identifying or just       would like to share with our readers? Drop us an email with a photo attached,       including all dimensions of the item and any other pertinent information, and       we'll include it in our newsletter and on our Facebook page. Send them to me       at phil@Bignews.biz       -----              We have even more interesting items that need to be identified. They will be       posted in our next newsletter and on facebook within the upcoming weeks.       ---------------------       --------------------------              --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-1        * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38)    |
