Thank you to Randi and Marilin G. who       submitted the following recipe:              "Hi Phil, Here's one version of Mock Pecan Pie your reader requested with no       nuts, no coconut ... AND ... it's as "Easy as Pie" to make!"              1 unbaked piecrust (9")       2/3 c. melted butter or margarine       2 eggs, beat lightly first,       then add 2/3 c. light golden corn syrup 1 tsp. vanilla       2/3 c. sugar       2/3c. rolled oats (regular, not quick oats) 1/4 tsp. salt       Preparation:       Combine wet ingredients. Combine dry ingredients & add & mix together. Pour       into unbaked pie crust. Bake at 375 for 10 minutes, then 350 for 45-50 mins.        Enjoy!              ------------              10. A vintage recipe request from a reader:              "My 50 year old sister-in-law was visiting with my brother from California       last November. We talked food, recipes, etc. She remembered "Pie Crust       Cookies" her Polish mother made during the holidays. "They were scrumptious.        She rolled them up and sliced and baked them." Does this ring a bell with       anyone? "              As with collectibles, people also have very strong feelings about foods from       their past. Sometimes these special recipes get lost. This section is to help       people who are looking for lost recipes from their past. If you submit a       request, please include the geographical region where you tasted the recipe.       --              If you can help this reader with this recipe, please forward it to       phil@bignews.biz .              If you have a vintage recipe request send it to phil@bignews.biz and we might       just publish it here. Be sure to check out our vintage kitchen collectibles       section online at: http://www.tias.com/showcase/1/Kitchen_Collectibles/1.html              -------------       --------------------------              --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-1        * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38)    |
