For next week's issue we are going to keep last week's topic going for another       week. We thought that some of the responses that we received were so       interesting and we'd love to hear from more of you about your collections:              "What is a strange or odd thing that you collect?" We'd love to know about       it. Is it strange to everyone who sees it? Do you display it proudly? Why       do you collect it?              Tell us about it. Send an email with your response to Phil@BigNews.biz Your       feedback helps us to keep the newsletter interesting :) Here are a few       responses from people with some very unusual collections :)              "I was in an antique mall in Hickory, NC, when someone came in asking if they       had any hog scrapers (tool to scrape hair off butchered hog). After a moment       of stunned silence, the clerk said no. Thought that was a pretty unusual item       to collect. Snooky"              "I bought an apple green canning jar with it's lid at a sale about 40 years       ago. It sat around for a few weeks on the kitchen counter and the cats kept       rubbing against it. I was afraid that it would get broken. Then I found a       cat whisker on the counter top and for some reason I put it in the jar.        Another whisker was found on the floor and it too went into the canning jar.        That jar is now full of our cat's whiskers and this strange collection draws       stares and comments from visitors. You know some of those whiskers are now       the only things other than our memories, that we have of our precious fur       babies. Some people apparently think that we are really strange to have kept       the whiskers and others start talking about their pets. Guess you just have       to have fur babies to understand why we kept the whiskers and that jar is now       kept in a small display cabinet along with some other collectibles so they       shouldn't get broken. I sure am glad that they are safe. Linda at Relics"              "Hi Phil, You asked about unusual collections. My father-in-law collects       weather vanes. He must have at least 40 of them. To some that might not seem       to be that unusual but he put every single one of them up on the various roofs       of his house, garage and barn. When he ran out of room on those buildings he       started putting them up on his shed and his chicken coop! We wonder what he       will do when the space on those structures runs out! Jack R."              Thanks to those of you who have been responding! We really enjoy, and       appreciate, the feedback!       ---------       --------------------------              --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-1        * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38)    |
