As with collectibles, people also have very strong feelings about foods from
their past. Sometimes these special recipes get lost. This section is to
help people who are looking for lost recipes from their past. If you submit a
request, please include the geographical region where you tasted the recipe.
If you have a vintage recipe request send it to recipes@tias.com and we might
   just publish it here.

TIAS.com merchants have thousands of cookbooks for sale! You can

Here's a recipe from the Better Homes and Gardens 1965 ring binder cookook:

   Pecan Crispies

   1/2 cup shortening
   1/2 cup butter or margarine
   2 1/2 cups brown sugar
   2 beaten eggs
   2 1/2 cups sifte all-purpose flour
   1/2 teaspoon soda
   1/4 teaspoon salt
   1 cup chopped pecans

   Oven 350 degrees

Thoroughly cream shortening, butter and sugar; add eggs; beat well. Sift dry
ingredients; add to creamed mixture. Add nuts.

Drop from teaspoon, about 2 inches apart, onto greased cooky sheet. Bake in
moderate over (350 degrees) 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 5 dozen.

Email recipes@tias.com if you have a vintage recipe you'd like to share or if
   you're looking for a recipe!
