You can see       them here: http://www.tias.com/books/cooking/              Be sure to check out our vintage kitchen collectibles section online at:       http://www.tias.com/showcase/1/Kitchen_Collectibles/1.html              Email recipes@tias.com if you have a vintage recipe you'd like to share or if       you're looking for a recipe!       --              Emily S. sent in this recipe from The American Family Cookbook c. 1974.        Thanks, Emily!              Mrs. Eisenhower's Deep-Dish Apple Pie A favorite recipe from the former First       Lady              Pastry for 1-crust pie       6 tart applies       1/2 cup sugar       1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar       1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg       Grated peel of 1 lemon (about 1 1/2 teaspoons) Grated peel of 1 orange (about       2 teaspoons) 3 tablespoons butter or margarine              1. Prepare pastry and roll out slightly larger than overall size of baking       dish to be used. Prick in a design. Set aside. 2. Pare and core applies; cut       into eights. Put into a greased deep 1 1/2 quart baking dish.       3. Combine sugars, nutmeg, and lemon and orange peels; sprinkle mixture over       the applies. Dot with butter. Cover with the pastry. 4.
