There are Fido editors on Linux, and probably        RL> also QWK if        RL> you're looking hard enough.               I got one and I like it -- Joe editor; works like an ANSI full screen       editor! I'm not tangled in CTRL keys. I think it's great! :) It's actually       5 editors in one -- Joe,JPico,JStar,Jmacs, rJoe. It's much faster to use than       vi. Yeh, JStar like in WordStar!! Even uses ISpell.                DS> I've installed Minicom & MMail in the A1. I'm using a ModemBlaster. It's        DS> coming together. The only hard part is this MMail editor -- vi (visual).               RL> vi is good as long as you can use the cursor keys as you're used from        RL> the Amiga. The big problems come when you have to work with some        RL> retarded terminal        RL> that doesn't support cursor keys, but things like ESC-x (delete), ESC-e        RL> (advance one character) or ESC-l (last char). Luckily, Olaf Barthel's        RL> term had        RL> a few useful key mappings for this. Not so on Linux, here we're stuck        RL> with braindead terminals on non-Linux OSes.                I used TERM. A nice solid prg; used mostly NCom. You can't use them in UAE.       The problem is no interface from UAE to PPC. I tried to use AmiQWK to do       mail, but won't open the packet because of real time clock error -- TZ. UAE       couldn't read RT and set TZ variable and skips the packet. :-/               So, Joe+mm+minicom+AmigaOne+ModemBlaster= :-) While, looking through       KPM's cache, I saw these -- sql editor, Kxml editor, GoldedPlus, Crashmail,       VIm and Joe. Golded+ was beta and the changelog gave it low urgency unstable.       So, I don't want to do apt-pinning yet. Later, when I know more linux! :-)              Dennis               RL> email: mussi@snoop.alphanet.ch | "If you're taking flak,        RL> Fidonet: 2:301/133 | you're above the target."        RL> --- MBSE BBS v0.37.6 (GNU/Linux-i386)       =:o              ...
