   yes, ben passed away... there's two new echolist projects underway... one of   
   them, managed by vince coen, is active now... the backbone is waiting on   
   stabilization of one or both projects before moving forward with the existing   
   methods that have been in place for years...   
      
   the basic steps to get an echo on the backbone are contained in the BOFAQ   
   document... this document will be posted soon-ish in the backbone's public   
   echo... until then, existing versions from ~2003 are still fairly valid...
