One year I went to a "Engineers Day" exibit.

In one of the classrooms they had a mike connected to a computer that
was running a program that displayed on a monitor what someone said
   into the mike.

It passed my test when I said the alphabet backwards in the mike.

That happened long before my friend tried training the Dragon software
   on his Windows 9x pc.
   .
I have no idea what computer the Engineering School was using, most
likely it was running a share on a main frame at the school.

I said this because in another room there was a teletype terminal set
up to show how students used a computer at that school.

I'm sure that the pc my friend used in the 1990's probably would look
like a tinker toy compared to the main frame at the school many years
   earlier.
