In a message dated 09-29-14, Allen Scofield said to David Westphalen:              Hello David,               DW> Does anyone know what the settings are to work RTTY? When I tune RTTY        DW> signals all that displays is random characters. Also wondering if DM78        DW> can decode jt65 or would I need to use a differant program to work that        DW> mode?              AS> FLDigi is a great free program that handles ALL the digital modes       AS> currently available. I use it with my homebrew interface hooked to       AS> my Yaesu FT900.              I agree on FLDigi being the best among the free ones. I don't know DM78.              At least I don't know of any other program that can decode JT65 than the       original JT itself. Mind you, JT 65 or any of the JTxx programs are very       special programs for digging out extremely weak signals from background       noise.              The JT programs are mostly used to work EME (moon bounce) and MS       (meteor scatter) contacts and they convey no other information than the       callsigns, signal report and locator.              Have a nice day,              Holger              ---        þ MR/2 2.30 þ The oxen are slow, but the earth is patient.                      * Origin: Coming to you from the Sunny Aland Islands.
