   Your post in reply to his tagline question does nothing to explain 'why'   
   stairs and steps are called what they are. Perhaps a breath of fresh air,   
   taken just a few steps up the flight of stairs to the highest balcony over   
   looking the huge valley of explanations will give you a clue.
