   Greetings TOM!

    HG>> Hi Tom,

HG>HG>TW>> The Create CLP-5130-1N LPDA antenna has Transmit capabilities
    HG>HG>TW>> for 50 t 1300 Mhz with a SWR of 2:1 or less

HG>HG>> Yes, a real LPDA can be made to cover almost any frequency span.

HG>TW>> And no matter the implimentation, Double boom or Single boom with
HG>TW>> insulated elements and crosssover wiring it is Still a Real LPDA

HG>> Nope, a real LPDA always has two booms and the feed is connected to
HG>> the front of the antenna with the braid to one boom and the inner
HG>> conductor to the other boom.

HG>> The front of the antenna is of course the end of the antenna with
    HG>> the shortest elements.

TW> Well on the antenna I am talking about the shortest elements are at
TW> the Front and ALL elements are driven by the coax.

If you had added dual or twin booms and non-insulated elements to that,
you would have an LPDA as Holgar described. You should also add that only
those elements that are resonant at the frequency at which your radio is
tuned. The rest are kinda dormant at that point, or as the antenna folks
   call it; active and/or inactive.

TW> And when one web serches the picture of BOTH types show up as
    TW> LPDA antennas.

I've done a lot of LPDA picture searches and have never run across a
single boom antenna that has a title of LPDA with it.

TW> The twin bom antennas is called a "Real World" LPDA

'Real World' can and is used to describe a lot of things. That doesn't
change when we're talking about antennas.

TW> becasue it is much easer to construct. But Both use the same Theory
TW> and give the same Results

   That's debateable.
