RW>Greetings TOM!              RW> RW> TW>> Within their Frequenct allocation they are transmitting two       RW> RW> TW>> signals. The main signal is in Spanish and the other one is in       RW> RW> TW>> English. They are two different signals eminationg from two       RW> RW> TW>> different studios.              RW> RW>> Everyone knows what 'secondary audio' is...              RW> RW> TW>> It is possible to have up to 12 different signals within the              RW> TW> same TV RW> TW> channel allocation.              RW> RW>> Not on an analog station.              RW> TW> I am not talking abuut secondary Audio but Multiplexing of TV signals       RW> TW> on a digital Tv Transmitter.              RW>That's what I said.              RW> RW> TW>> The more channels of course means lower broadcast quality. Here       RW> RW> TW>> is a bit form the Internet:              RW> RW> TW>> Trinity Broadcasting Network stations has five SDTV channels,       RW> RW> TW>> the most of any large broadcaster in the country.              RW> RW>> We have the same 5 Trinity channels in San Antonio...now what?              RW> TW> IF they are multiplexing you can get more than 5 TV signals from       RW> TW> those 5 transmitters.              RW>Doubt it. That would be pushing the envelope too far and they'd be       RW>xmitting out of their allocated band frequency. As a HAM or HAM advocate,       RW>you should know that the very idea of xmitting on the edge of a band will       RW>get you in trouble with the FCC.                     Well there are stations doing it. Both Ch 8 & 10 here trasnmit       additional TV signals in addition to their Main Programing.       IT is Possible becasue the signal is Digital and they can use various       compression teniques to make it possable and still stay withing the FCC       band Width alocation. OF course Full hi Definition(1080) takes the full       channel so as I mentioned previously the signals are of lower quality.       ---        þ SLMR 2.1a þ 0         * Origin: Fidonet Since 1991 bbs.docsnetservices.com (1:123/140)    |
