...               TW> By the way I also had a great deal of Trouble with the Cod.        TW> I tried many tiems over the years to get it down but it        TW> jsut never clicked with me.               I learned the code, but never used it. I was never much good at        it. My interest was always in the building side of it. Built a        lot of equipment, got it working and then went on to building        other things.               I sold a lot at hamfests.               TW> Even after the NO Code Tech came out I waited many years        TW> before getting the licence bacaus of my belief it made        TW> BETTER disiplined Hams. Although listening to soem of the        TW> HF bands seemed to Disprove that one. I also tok the        TW> Genmeral at the First Test session after the Code was        TW> dropped and past.               I got my commercial license while in the Air Force, passed the        second class the first time through. AF training was pretty        good. The First class was actually easier, but it was different.        A bit of study and I got that and a radar endorsement.               Now all they have is a commercial license, no class attached.        Double meaning intended.               So, I went for my advanced class right away, as the code was the        same as for the general, and I had all that tech. Passed the        first time. Now so much has changed I tell people I have a mind        full of obsolete knowledge.               TW> Although I had a trump card because I could pass the        TW> General Test in 1949 and I also kept up with things since        TW> so with only a quick review I was ready.               I dropped out of radio professionally long ago, and my ham was        still always tech rather than operating. Even that has gone more        to computers. Now I'm looking just at Short Wave Listening. More        obsolete knowledge.                                   BOB KLAHN bob.klahn@sev.org http://home.toltbbs.com/bobklahn              ...
