   Good luck, John! I definately found a lot more enjoyment in Amateur Radio when   
   I upgraded from Tech to Extra. Being able to use the HF bands opened a whole   
   new world (literally) to my ears.   
      
   Are you using any of the online study resources, or just physical books?
