   Thank you! Talked to someone last night at the local meeting - he   
   sent me his plans for a desktop antenna he's had great results   
   with. It's called a Circular Polarized Folded Loop Antenna and   
   it's made from copper tubing. It's recomended to solder, but   
   can be screwed together as well.
