DS> At a central Arkansas hamfest several years ago, they had a "CW
DS> Shootout At High Noon". Floyd Bumpus, N5EL, and Dennis Schafer, W5RZ,

Too bad that Art Cherette (sp), K6XT wasn't there, he would have loved the
competition. Art's a CW-DX nut and a contester. I just received photos of
his new tower installation. I knew some of the guys who helped him do
the tower erection, as they were San Diego DX club members. Art has moved
from SD to the mountains of Colorado. Hmmmm, wonder if there's a K0XT,
   probably.

DS> A funny CW story was where a fellow ham was using Ham Radio Deluxe
DS> to do CW with his computer (he knew the code, but not fast enough to
DS> work some of the bands). He was working a ham on 40 meters, and the
DS> guy sent "15 wpm. Not bad...can you go faster??". The ham said "just
DS> a second"...moved his mouse, and tweaked the setting to 99 wpm, and
    DS> resumed typing!!

DS> The other ham noted "that was solid perfect copy"...to which came
DS> the reply "it takes a lot of practice" (hi hi).

Interesting. Did the program save his text in a buffer and then send it or
was he able to type that fast?
