   I haven't followed the designers but their products. First business day   
   this year I had to buy a new coffee maker, since I dropped tha glas can   
   on new years eve, and I couldn't find a replacement. The new one is a   
   Braun Aromaster Classic, and so far I'm satisfied.   
      
   Earlier, in aug. 2015 I bought a new Braun shaver, because the one I   
   used at the time, had lost a retaining spring that keeps the foil in   
   place. I had to use non-streching tape to keep it on.   
      
   That new shaver does the worst job compared to all the previous models.   
   I started using Braun shavers over 50 years ago with the Sixtant 6006,   
   and have since bought a 3 V battery driven one, received as birthday   
   present a Braun "Shave & Shape" model. All of these have a single foil   
   and cutter block.   
      
   This new one, a "Smart Control Classic" (5742), does however sport a   
   dual foil/cutting block. The reasoning may be to make a twice better   
   job, but the result is worse than any of the previous models.   
      
   Yes, I still do have all the previous ones. ;o)

   Yes my HiFi equipment does stem from the 70s. I do vaguely remember the   
   HK 330B, but in between that and the 930 I have, there was also the 630.   
   The one I have is actually the 930 model that I called 630 earlier.   
      
   A neighbour across the street has a model 630. I mixed them up.

   That "tube sound" was much appreciated by the HiFi fans, after all   
   manufacturers turned to semi conductor products. Marantz was another   
   producer that I sold too.

   After starting my own business (radio/TV service) and dealership for   
   both and whiteware plus an importer of ham gear from US, I bought my   
   first commercially made transceiver, a Drake TR-3, which was followed by   
   a d:o TR-4/RV-4.   
      
   I didn't stop building though, despite the service jogs, but I built a   
   couple of Heathkit scopes for the ham station, a H-kit sweep generator,   
   VTVM, and other kits. Today I have regrettably had to cease building and   
   repairin gear, since I've lost one eye to Glaucoma.   
      
   With that handicap, it's impossible to focus on small details, and to   
   solder. You really must have two eyes to be able to closely focus.   
   Luckily, I was able to retain my drivers license. Only the commercial   
   truck/bus drivers mus have two eyes.
