   There has not been any new BBS software developed since early 2000's and most   
   was pre that time.   
      
   Any new variants that you see such as mbse, mystic are new versions of older   
   s/w which in the later has had significant development but is closed source   
   which in itself has a security as well as possible integration issue/s.
