   Not sure what "media" you are watching, but the media I watch does know the   
   difference.  I very much do, too.  I also know that, when it comes to due   
   process, the difference between legal and illegal doesn't matter.  The   
   Constitution grants that particular right to "people" and not only "citizens."   
      
   If they media you watch doesn't know the difference, or doesn't seem to   
   understand that difference sometimes doesn't matter, I would suggest that your   
   problem is not the media as a whole but the apparently poor media you are   
   consuming.   
      
   If I see an article I am not sure about, I will look for other sources to   
   see how they are reporting the incident.  If one reports it much   
   differently than the others, I would be suspicious of it even if it is   
   telling me what I want to hear.
