   Well, let's see. Bill Clinton left office with a federal surplus.   
   Eight months later, George W. Bush squandered it all with his tax   
   cuts for the wealthy, going into deficit spending. And that was   
   *before* the events of 9-11. Then he continued in office, giving   
   us The Great Recession - the worst economic downturn since The   
   Great Depression in the 1930s.

   That is what GWB's vice president told the world. "Deficits don't   
   matter." Great advice for us all. Barack Obama cerainly took note,   
   fixing the economy once he got into office.   
      
   And now we have another doofus in office, with unemployment numbers   
   not seen since the stock market crashed in 1929. Thank God we have   
   another savior about to lead us to salvation, just as FDR and Obama   
   did.   
      
   If you want to make money, you have to spend money. Preferably   
   somebody else's money. That is how things work, and always have   
   worked. Austerity will only make things worse. Being a scrooge   
   is not an option, so might as well open your wallets and start   
   giving. After all, you know the cause is right ...
