Is liberty the right to do what one deserves, with         LL> restrictions? Is liberty something else altogether?              That's a very good question.       From Oxford Languages:       noun:˙liberty              1.              the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by       authority on one's way of life, behavior, or political views.              This, I think is a good start.       Along with that definition, I would add that "free from oppressive       restrictions" in society is not the same as free to do whatever you want. You       can't kill someone just because. Neither would me walking up to you and       punching you in the face be an example of liberty.       Liberty of behavior, which those examples above are not, would be, for example       the often used example here in the USA of the bakers who declined to make a       wedding cake for a homosexual couple because their religious views didn't       agree with the homosexual lifestyle. Another example of liberty of behavior       would be for those who disagree with the bakers to boycott the bakers shop and       give their business elsewhere to someone who doesn't hold that view.       For that matter, being able to have a relationship with whomever you wish,       regardless of gender or ethnic background without government denying you such       pursuit is liberty.              Does this adequately answer your question?                                                                      --       Best regards!       Posted using Hotdoged on Android       --- Hotdoged/2.13.5/Android        * Origin: The Oasis, Houston, Texas, USA (2:240/1120.976)       SEEN-BY: 1/123 14/0 80/1 88/0 90/1 103/705 105/81 120/340 123/131       SEEN-BY: 154/10 203/0 218/700 221/0 1 6 226/30 227/114 229/101 424       SEEN-BY: 229/426 700 1016 1017 240/1120 1634 2100 5138 5832 5853 8001       SEEN-BY: 240/8002 8005 249/206 317 261/38 280/464 5003 282/464 1038       SEEN-BY: 288/100 292/854 8125 301/1 113 310/31 313/41 317/3 320/219       SEEN-BY: 322/757 335/364 342/200 382/147 396/45 423/120 712/848 770/1       SEEN-BY: 801/188 197 202 900/100 106 108 902/6 7 25 26 27 920/1 2452/250       SEEN-BY: 2454/119 5058/104       PATH: 240/1120 5832 280/464 292/854 301/1 80/1 902/27 90/1 229/426           |
