AREA:ABLED       MSGID: 1:153/757.0 45d46311       TZUTC: -0700       CHRS: LATIN-1 2       Yo!              Anyone in here?              I check in on occasion via a web interface via a local BBS that's been up for        forty years!              I do have a disability (so they say, but __I__ decide when something creates       a barrier for me, not them!)              I am paralyzed on my left side mostly, but I can hobble around for short        distances and go farther using a powerchair (when it's not broken, as it is        now); or, if I must be somewhere & my chair is dead, I call a cxn & use my       quad cane.              I'm about the doing, not the inabilities.               Barriers exist in some shape or form for EVERYONE! But most of us were raised        to just go over, around, under, or straight through any barriers.              Job has to be done, no excuses.              I may not have use of my left hand, so I learned to type up to 82WPM with       just my right hand! Scares the normies! *LOL*              Currently I'm between jobs, as my employer of nineteen years finally figured        out they had one staff member/department on the old wages (CAD$ vs Mexican        pesos) and closed the department in a cost-saving measure, & away I went. .               Now, if I were smart, they say, I'd just settle back & retire, but that       doesn't work for me! Living on a disability pension(or old age one in 7 years)              I kind of had my retirement when I was young enough to fully enjoy it (girls       & booze, & copious amounts of both, plus weed) in my late teens, early       twenties, until a busted brain vessel (aneurysm) slowed me down all at once.       I kept going with the girls for a while, as I'd discovered the internet,. &       bored women in their 30s &40s who will happily fly over to Vancouver, Canada       for a weekend or two of celebrating the inner workings of the human mutual       orgasm.              Notice I leave out the details--this is because I'm a Fido Moderator from the        last millennium and understand the overall rules and audience. . . Some of       you have imaginations & I say you're right in darn near every details, except       THAT ONE -- nope, I do have standards. . . which might surprise one or two of       my        exes, but life goes on. . .              Ow I'm married with children, out in the sub-burps of Vancouver, able to get        from home to downtown Vancouver's CBD in under an hour any time I decide to go.              Looking for work mostly on Indeed, using A.I. to perfect each and every        application package.              So, yeah, disability -- yeah, sure, I sit more than I used to before the        hemiplegia set in, but only when Io don't have something better to do, &/or       to go.              Oh, I am still a moderator of the echo I was Mod of in the 1990s; I won't       name it because that might go against a moderator echo rule regarding       advertising competitive echoes. RN, ABLED is the ONLY echo worth being in.       If this echo's moderators decide it's okay, they'll let me know & I'll share       the name of it, or if they already know they might just say it for you. . .               Hope y'all are having a wonderful first weekend in September! I'm kicking        back, enjoying the holiday weekend for today & tomorrow, too. . .              Writeback & freely tell yourself about me (umm, or vice-versa) & let's start        conversations in this slow moving message group. . .              The internet & its chat areas are too commercialized & filled with spyware &        adware, let's give life back to the original internet -- FIDO & BBSing!              As you cante from the above, I'm a talker, yup. . . on the autism        spectrum(ASD/Asperger's) on top of everything else, but higher functioning        enough that nobody really can tell, except for my chatty nature in this age       of ignoring your fellow man(&/or woman &/or womyn &/or myn)              I'm all about inclusion in my working in my community with multiple        organisations, including the city council/mayor, & city staff/management, to        help ensure the removal of barriers that affect those with disabilities       and/or other barriers to full participation in the community.              So, yeah, write back, say hi, tell me about yourself. . .              --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Toy-7        * Origin: The Rusty MailBox - Penticton, BC Canada (1:153/757)       SEEN-BY: 19/10 105/81 106/201 128/187 129/14 305 134/100 153/135 143       SEEN-BY: 153/148 149 151 153 757 7715 154/110 218/700 840 220/70 221/1       SEEN-BY: 221/6 360 226/17 30 227/114 229/110 206 317 426 428 470 664       SEEN-BY: 229/700 705 250/1 266/512 267/800 291/111 301/1 320/219 322/757       SEEN-BY: 335/364 341/66 342/200 396/45 460/58 633/267 280 420 712/620       SEEN-BY: 712/848 770/1 100 340 350 772/220 230 902/26 2320/105 5020/400       SEEN-BY: 5075/35       PATH: 153/757 221/6 218/840 770/1 712/848 633/280 229/426           |
