                               --Important--

Tesla coils are dangerous devices! Use the utmost care and fore thought
in the design and operation of these devices.

                                 -Warning-

Tesla coils generate high intensity fields, anyone who is dependent on
any electrical device to sustain life such as a pacemaker etc, must not
come anywhere near an operating coil system!

                                 -Warning-

The ionization of air at the spark gaps and at the top of the secondary
coil produce lethal gases! Ozone, oxides of nitrogen and others are formed
by altering the molecular strucures of the gases present in air when they
are forced to conduct electricity. A build up of these gases can occur and
become a health hazzard. Always operate any coil system with proper
  ventilation.
                                 -Warning-

High level broadband noise is generated by the spark gap and output
discharge, hearing protection is strongly suggested.

The author of TESLAC nor my family can or will be held responsible for
the operation or safe use of any coil constructed using this or any other
design program, I cannot control the use of your coil! Build and operate
Tesla coil systems at your own risk!

                              --The Program--

TESLAC was written by me to be a help/and time saver in the design of
coil systems, its output information has been checked against built
coils and the answers given in the program are amazingly close to the
parameters of coils that are operating. The calculations are based on
PROVEN time-tested formulas that have been altered (if needed) to improve
accuracy (I.E. better represent the real world). When certain limits are
exceeded in the program, it will warn you by a short BEEP, If you enter
a <cr> or a zero (0) at any input prompt that portion of the program will
halt. TESLAC can be used to calculate any part of a coil system, or each
section can be utilized to design a complete system, you using the program
will develop the best way for the program to serve you.

                            --About the Author--

I've been tinkering with Tesla coils for over 20 years, but have only been
seriously persuing it for about 5 years. I currently operate two systems,
a small table top system that runs at 700 watts it produces a 19" discharge,
  it uses a 4.25"dia secondary wound to a length of 13" with # 24 wire and a
2x12" toroid on top, it runs at about 300 khz.

The other coil is "dubbed" Pandora and runs at 5KW input it produces a
  discharge of 7 - 8 feet. Using a 8 1/2" diameter secondary wound to a
length of 30" using #18 wire. The terminal is a 6x36" toroid, it runs at
130 khz. The drive transformer is a 8400v potential transformer. The first
version of Pandora can be seen of TCBOR's video #30, and in the TCBA news
  Vol 12 #2 1993 page 9.

I also am a active radio amateur (HAM) and hold a Extra class license,
callsign WB8JKR. Im active on all bands from 1.8 to 144 Mhz.
I've been involved with electronics for some 25 years and my background
involves mainly high power RF amplifier design.
