"NASA Tech Briefs" Magazine

NASA technology discoveries are available in abstract form through the
publication of a monthly magazine, "NASA Tech Briefs," which is distributed
free to scientists, engineers, business executives and other qualified
technology transfer agents in industry, the academic community or state and
local government.

First published as single sheet briefs in 1962, Tech Briefs was converted to a
NASA-published magazine format in 1976. The spring 1985 issue marked a new
milestone in that publishing responsibility was turned over to a commercial
firm. In a joint venture, Associated Business Publications agreed to sell
advertising and publish the NASA information at no cost to NASA. Thus, NASA
Tech Briefs became one of the first government publications to accept paid
advertisements.

NASA continues to supply the editorial matter to the magazine. The 12 annual
issues contain information on over 500 newly developed processes, advances in
basic and applied research, improvements in shop and laboratory techniques, new
sources of technical data, etc.

Innovations reported in NASA Tech Briefs magazine annually generate more than
100,000 requests for additional information. The publication may be obtained
by contacting the Director, NASA Center for AeroSpace Information (CASI), Post
Office Box 8757, Baltimore, MD 21240. (Additional information about CASI is
available under a separate menu entry).
