VR3a - A Vertical Text Reader for the Psion S3a
                     Version 1.00, January 1994
                  Copyright (c) 1994 Robert Boucher
                    <boucher@asimov.ocunix.on.ca>
                         <boucher@sofkin.ca>

1. Installation.

	a. Create a toplevel directory called "\VR3A" and "\TXT"
VR3A will contain VR specific files, for now this is
only for the vertical fonts. TXT is where the
text files to be read should go.
	b. Copy "*.FON" files into "\VR3A".
	c. Copy VR3A.OPA to the "\APP" directory
	d. Install the application via Psion-I
	e. Thats it!

2. Text files.

Copy the text files to be read in "\TXT". If the extension is
something other than ".TXT", the file will not show up in the VR3A
file list.

3. Usage.

See the file VR3A.DOC. Many kudos to Gilles Kohl to allow me
to use his documentation.

4. Feedback

If you use this application, please drop me a note. Bug reports (with
fixes) and suggestions should be addressed to me. Any comments are
welcome. I follow the traffic in comp.sys.psion.

5. Registration and License

There are no registration required for this application, however, if
you do wish to contribute something, you can donate at least $10 to
Project Gutenberg. You can contact them at <dircompg@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu>
for details on how this can be done. Project Gutenberg was initiated
by Prof. Michael S. Hart. Their goal is to make a maximum of free
electronic texts available to everybody (see VR3A.DOC for their FTP
site).

This program is released under the GNU General Public License,
Version 2, a copy of which should be in this directory under
the name LICENSE.GPL.

The routine named PARSE$:() is copyrighted by Mark Esposito,
Pelican Software, it is available on the Psion FTP archive.

6. Acknowledgements.

Gilles Kohl <100114.3146@compuserve.com> develops and maintains the
vertical reader 'VR' for the HP95LX/HP100LX palmtops. VR3a attempts
to mimic his implementation (with permission) as best as it can under
OPL. Only the look-and-feel was borrowed - the implementation is
completely new. He also allowed me to use his vertical fonts and his
documentation.

The VR3A icon was created from one of the icons from the utility
"IconBox" version 1.00 from Right Hand Software Ltd and the text was
added with Roger Burton-West's <ubte30e@ucl.ac.uk> EIKON
v0.94 icon editor

7. TO DOs.

 1. Dynamic configuration - especially for customizing font
    availability
 2. Support for Proportional Fonts
 3. ***Speed improvements***
 4. Replace MENU and DIALOGs with vertical ones so you do not
have to flip the Psion all the time.
