Notes of the News Bug in v2.0 and v2.1
		--------------------------------------

Many of you will already have seen the discussion in the newgroup about
the news-downloading bug discovered in the earlier versions of Windis.

The problem was that, Windis was requesting articles since the time of
the last download specified in local time. However, the news-server works
in GMT, so in effect, what was being reqested was all articles from one
hour AFTER the previous download. Any articles which had arrived at the
news-server in that hour would never get downloaded.

Release 2.2 provides a fix for this problem and if you had been running
with a timezone setting of GMT0 to circumvent it, you should now reset
your timezone to GMT0BST1 (or as appropriate). Please note that the time
specified in NNTP.DAT will still be in expressed in local time (BST for
most people). This will be converted to GMT for the dialog with the
news-server. If you wish, you can see this by setting the NNTP trace level
to 3. I believe KA9Q stores the last-download time in GMT; anyone sharing
a set-up with KA9Q should beware of this difference.
