Subject: Synton history

Hi Folks !

I was going to give you some facts on Synton stuff (I am Dutch after all
!). Here it goes:
Synton was mainly an importer in Holland. They imported big league stuff.
Fairlight, E-mu, Simmons, PPG. They also made some synths:

the Syrinx.
the series 2000 & 3000 modular
the College

as well as some Vocoders:

2002 - this is the Big One: 20 of them exist.
222 - this was their big hit. They sold about 1000 of these I think
202 - even smaller version of 222

furthermore they build custom stuff for the some conservatories analogue
studio's. They provided all the electronics for the now defunkt analog
studio at the Sweelinck conservatory. They did a lot of stuff for the Royal
Conservatory in the Hague. Things like octave filters (very steep !)

the Syrinx is mono synth with a very nice filter. It has 3 resonance peaks
! It also has the weirdest pitch bend solution ever. two touch sensitive
pieces of circuit board, man you have to see it (hear it!) I can't explain.
There are 300 Syrinxes on this planet. 3 of them are white, 20 of them are
blue, 20 of them are red and the rest is black. I've got a red one. A
friend of mine build them all in his time as Synton engineer.
more next time, hope you like this info and don't find it a waste of your
time. Love
AA
