Ultima Underworlds II Cheat

This cheat will give your character 30 in all skills, 127/127 mana, 30 in
all attributes (STR, DEX, INT) and 255 maximum vitality. The character's
current vitality is not affected (I couldn't find the right byte), so you'll
just have to cast healing spells with your new mana, or rest if you don't
have the right runes... Level and experience are not changed either, so
you'll still have to kill things (that's the fun part) before you can cast
high-level spells.

To make the cheat work, you'll have to use a hex editor to change the
character name in the UW2CHEAT.COM file to the name of your character.
Yeah, I know that sucks. Live with it. Just find the bytes
CHARACTERNAME (starting at the 3rd byte in UW2CHEAT.COM) and change them
to the name of your character. If your character's name is shorter than
the string CHARACTERNAME, then replace the remaining bytes with 0's NOT
SPACES (i.e. if your character's name is Jack, then you need to put in
'Jack' followed by 9 zero bytes, completely overwriting CHARACTERNAME).
You should put the character's name in EXACTLY as you've typed it in the
game - specifically with mathcing upper and lowercase!

If you do not change the UW2CHEAT.COM file, and your character's name is
not CHARACTERNAME, then the cheat WILL NOT WORK.

After you've done this, you just need to run UW2CHEAT.COM before running
Ultima Underworlds II (UW2.EXE). After you've loaded a saved game, or
created a character with the correct name, you need only to click either
mouse button while the cursor is in the bottom left corner of the screen
and your character's attributes will be changed - for the better.

If you click in the bottom left corner and nothing happens, then move the
cursor to the top right corner and back down to the bottom left (quickly)
and try again. This problem results from UW2 keeping its own X,Y
coordinates for the mouse cursor which aren't always the same as the mouse
driver's. Since UW2CHEAT.COM hooks the mouse interrupt, it uses the mouse
driver's X,Y coordinates.

If you experience problems while using this cheat, it's probably just
Ultima Underworlds II screwing up again (it IS rather buggy)... or you
may be running a different version of UW2 than the cheat was designed for.
I have no idea which version I designed it for, it doesn't say anywhere...
In all versions it should be able to change the character's skills and mana,
because it searches memory for the occurrence of the character's name in
order to find these stats. If you notice that these attributes are being
changed, but the character's maximum vitality, strength, dexterity and
intelligence aren't, then it is likely that you are using a different
version and UW2CHEAT.COM is changing bytes that it THINKS are the vitality,
strength, dexterity and intelligence when they are actually something else.
This could be completely harmless (if it's just changing picture data for
instance), or very bad (if it's changing instructions).

That is all.
