Installation

Electro-static discharge (ESD) can damage PROMs and other circuit
board components. Do not remove a circuit board or PROM from its
static protective package prior to installation. When handling
any circuit board or PROM, avoid touching pins, leads, solder
connections, or gold-plated edges. Failures resulting from ESD
may not be covered under your warranty.
Before installing the PROM set, determine whether the CS/50 board
is marked PWA 06-0058-xx or PWA 06-0047-xx by examining the
number located to the left of the power connector. Refer to
Figure 1 to locate the power connector.

If the CS/50 is marked PWA 06-0058-xx, follow these instructions
to install the E2MMON Revision 00B PROMs:

1. Locate component positions U59 and U60 on the CS/50 board
by referring to Figure 1.

2. Gently push the E2MMON PROM Revision 00B marked 0-7 into
the socket at position U59. Be sure that the notch in the
PROM is oriented in the same direction as the corresponding
notch on the CS/50 board.

3. Gently push the E2MMON PROM Revision 00B marked 8-F into
the socket at position U60. Be sure that the notch in the
PROM is oriented in the same direction as the corresponding
notch on the CS/50 board.

4. If the rows of pins on the PROM are too far apart to fit
into the socket, press them closer together by pushing one
row of pins against a flat surface.

If the CS/50 board is marked PWA 06-0047-xx, follow these
instructions to install the E2MMON Revision 00B PROMs:

1. Locate component positions U15 and U14 on the CS/50 board.

2. Gently push the E2MMON PROM Revision 00B marked 0-7 into
the socket at position U15. Be sure that the notch in the
PROM is oriented in the same direction as the corresponding
notch on the CS/50 board.

3. Gently push the E2MMON PROM Revision 00B marked 8-F into
the socket at position U14. Be sure that the notch in the
PROM is oriented in the same direction as the corresponding
notch on the CS/50 board.

4. If the rows of pins on the PROM are too far apart to fit
into the socket, press them closer together by pushing one
row of pins against a flat surface.
