3Server Utility Software Guide Release Note
Part No. 6691-00, 8/17/89

Diskette Names

The 3Server Utility Software Guide refers to the 3Server/500,
3Server386 Utility diskette. This diskette has been renamed the
3Server Utility diskette.

IBM Token-Ring Network 16/4 Adapter

The error message "Tokenboot Failed Error Code:0306" may indicate
that your 3Server/500 network server's base memory size is set
incorrectly. Access the maintenance mode menus and select the
correct base memory size for your configuration.

When using the 3C program with a 3Server/500 network server that
has an IBM Token-Ring Network 16/4 Adapter, you must use the full
12-digit network address when you enter the "/ADDR" parameter.

Be sure to write down the address of the IBM 16/4 Token-Ring
Network Adapter when it is displayed on the server's LCD in the
token boot mode. It can be difficult to determine the network
address of this board from it's documentation.

Console Connection Problems

When using 3+Open network software you may not be able to make a
3C connection if there are DOS clients on the network
experiencing "network retrying..." messages. You can either have
all DOS clients log off the network or have all of them reboot.

If you use the DOS TYPE command to look at the contents of a text
file, frequent use of control-S or the pause key to stop the
output can lock up the server.

3DISK386

In 3DISK386, the display of the boot device's SCSI ID/LUN may
become corrupted after you add drives to CMOS. Only the display
is affected, not CMOS. You can confirm the boot device after
exiting and then restarting 3DISK386.
